Building New Beginnings Through Career Opportunities

10th September 2026, Kuala Lumpur – A second chance can begin with the right opportunity. The ‘Karnival Lindung Kerjaya Mega MYFutureJobs – Zon Tengah’ demonstrated this by connecting individuals preparing to reintegrate into society with employers offering meaningful pathways to employment and a fresh start.

Organised by the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) through the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), in strategic collaboration with the Malaysian Prison Department (JPM), the programme targets at least 800 prospective jobseekers, including individuals nearing release and parolees from seven prison institutions across the Central Zone.

Representing the Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KLSICCI) were President, Mr. V.K.K. Rajasekaran Teagarajan, and Assistant Honorary Secretary General, Mr. Pravin Selvam Tamil Selvam.

A key feature of the programme was direct job matching within prison complexes, supported by digital pre-profiling through the MYFutureJobs portal. This enabled participating employers to identify suitable candidates, conduct focused interviews and offer employment opportunities directly at the programme.

The initiative involved at least 35 employers from sectors including manufacturing, construction, logistics, food and beverage services, and plantation. It also featured the presentation of employment offer letters and recognition through the “Anugerah Ikon Kerjaya Kedua” and “Anugerah Majikan Prihatin.”

Aligned with the Malaysia MADANI agenda, the programme highlights the importance of government-industry collaboration in promoting inclusive employment and sustainable socioeconomic reintegration. KLSICCI remains supportive of initiatives that create second chances, strengthen workforce participation and empower individuals to rebuild their livelihoods.
