17th July, KL – The Malaysian Indian Hairdressers Association (MIHAAS) recently paid a  courtesy visit to the Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry  (KLSICCI) as part of its efforts to strengthen ties and foster closer collaboration between both  organisations in advancing the interests of Malaysia’s Indian barbering industry.

The MIHAAS delegation was led by its President, Mr. Kanna, accompanied by the Association’s  Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Committee members, and State Leaders from across the country.  They were warmly received by KLSICCI President Mr. V.K.K. Rajasekaran Teagarajan, Deputy  President Ms. Mogana Chinnathamby, and Honorary Secretary General Mr. Tony Clifford A.  Thomas.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both organisations to engage in meaningful discussions  on several key issues affecting the barbering industry. Among the matters deliberated were  financing programmes to support business growth, challenges relating to the recruitment and  employment of foreign workers, difficulties encountered in the foreign worker application,  licensing issues involving Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) and the importance of  strengthening skills development and professional training programmes for the barbering  sector.

Both KLSICCI and MIHAAS expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and  maintaining close engagement with the relevant government agencies and stakeholders to  address industry concerns. The courtesy visit marked an important step towards building  stronger partnerships and advancing initiatives that will contribute to the sustainable growth,  professionalism and long-term development of Malaysia’s barbering industry.
