KLSICCI and Maybank Spearhead Digital Empowerment for Smes

Objectives: To provide practical guidance on implementing QR Payment systems for B2C and B2B transactions.

10th July 2025, Kuala Lumpur – The Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KLSICCI), in a strategic collaboration with Maybank, successfully convened an online webinar titled “Empowering Digital for SMEs & MSMEs.” The virtual event, conducted via Zoom, garnered significant participants, with approximately 60 attendees actively engaging to enhance their digital proficiency. 

Initiated by KLSICCI’s “Digital Transformation & Technology Innovations” (AI & IOT) committee, the webinar featured expert insights from Dr. Lalitha, a distinguished Digitalisation Trainer, and Mr. Joshua, a QR Payment Specialist from Maybank. Their presentations meticulously addressed critical areas designed to equip small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and micro-SMEs (MSMEs) with the tools necessary to navigate and thrive in the contemporary digital economy.

The comprehensive agenda encompassed the practical implementation of QR Payment systems for both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) transactions. Participants received a detailed exposition on government matching grants, including precise eligibility criteria, requisite documentation, and the streamlined application procedures. Furthermore, the session introduced a suite of advanced digital tools aimed at optimizing productivity and operational efficiency, alongside practical guidance on leveraging available government grants for e-Invoicing solutions.

This pivotal initiative underscores KLSICCI’s commitment to fostering the growth and resilience of local businesses by facilitating their seamless transition into the digital realm, thereby contributing to Malaysia’s broader economic advancement.
