Kuala Lumpur, 9 May 2025 – The Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KLSICCI), in collaboration with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and the Ministry of Digital, successfully launched the first session of its six-part “Future Forward: AI, Security & Smarter Business” forum series at WORQ KL Sentral.
The six-series forum, fully sponsored by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), kicked off its first session by bringing together business leaders, tech professionals, and SME representatives to explore how artificial intelligence and digital tools are transforming the business landscape. Designed to support Malaysia’s digital economy aspirations, the session aimed to equip participants with future-ready insights, practical strategies, and actionable knowledge to navigate the evolving digital era.
Among the key topics presented were “The Magic of AI,” “Cybersecurity in the Age of Gen AI,” “SME Digitalisation,” and “Level Up Your AI Workforce”. Each speaker shared practical applications of these technologies, addressing how companies can harness innovation while managing the challenges of digital transformation.
A panel discussion and Q&A session followed the presentations, where speakers engaged with the audience on key concerns, including AI ethics, cybersecurity threats, and digital upskilling for SMEs. The session enabled direct interaction between industry experts and participants, encouraging real-time problem-solving and networking.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Anuar Fariz, CEO of MDEC, emphasised the importance of continuous engagement between government agencies and industry players. He lauded the initiative as a timely effort to support SMEs and the wider business ecosystem in embracing Malaysia’s digital economy agenda.
KLSICCI President Mr. Nivas Ragavan thanked the Digital Ministry and MDEC and expressed optimism about the initiative, stating, “This series marks a vital step toward building a tech-empowered business community. By working with MDEC and the Digital Ministry, we are helping Malaysian entrepreneurs navigate the future confidently”.
