16th April 2026, Kuala Lumpur – The KLSICCI successfully organised a programme titled “Empowering Entrepreneurs Through Awareness of Financing Opportunities”, jointly initiated by its Logistics & Transport Committee led by Dr. Is. Selvarajoo, Startup, Micro and SME Development Committee led by Ms. Sanmuga Selvi, and Construction & Infrastructure Committee led by Datuk Ganesh Muraj.
The half-day programme began with welcoming remarks by President Mr. Nivas Ragavan, who emphasised the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and strengthening the business ecosystem, followed by opening remarks by the Organising Chairman Dr. Is. Selvarajoo Horikirishna, who highlighted the importance of financial access for SME growth.
Participants were then introduced to several key financing initiatives by industry experts. Speaker Pn. Nooraznie Binti Abd Rahman from Bank Simpanan Nasional presented the Micro i-MADANI Financing Scheme, outlining opportunities for micro-entrepreneurs to access affordable financing. This was followed by a session from TEKUN Nasional, where Mr. Muhammad Aish Balaguru Gurupatham elaborated on the SPUMI Goes Big programme and its expansion to support small businesses.
Further insights were shared by Mr. Thomas Tan Kee Siang of Affin Bank, who discussed the Working Capital Guarantee Scheme (SJPP), designed to assist businesses in securing financing with reduced risk.
An engaging question-and-answer session, moderated by Honorary Treasurer Prof. Selvaraj Asiravatham, allowed participants to seek clarification and gain deeper understanding of the financing options presented.
The programme concluded with closing remarks by Council Member Datuk Ganesh Muraj, followed by a token of appreciation ceremony and a networking session. The event was well-received, reinforcing KLSICCI’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs through knowledge-sharing and access to vital financial resources.
