7th FEB 2026, SERDANG – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed by the Indian community during his two-day official visit to Malaysia at the “Selamat Datang Modi Ji” event at MINES International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Seri Kembangan. Over 12,000 attendees included Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
KLSICCI was represented by President Mr. Nivas Ragavan, Deputy President Mr. Prabagaran Vythilingam, Honorary Secretary Ms. Mogana Chinnathamby, and other council and committee members, highlighting the Chamber’s commitment to India–Malaysia ties.
A cultural highlight featured over 800 dancers performing Indian classical and folk dances, setting a Malaysia Book of Records record for the largest Indian dance performance. Modi described the event as a “grand celebration of Indian culture” and praised the Malaysian Indian community for strengthening India–Malaysia people-to-people connections.
The event was part of broader efforts to enhance bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
